JunkeeAntique Store sound tour into the past...

The tour begins at the store's entrance and carries one into an erie journey of discovery through sound and visual.http://www.junkeeclothingexchange.com/

  1. A different look at some of the odds and ends in antique stores. I think some clearer instructions in the audio itself would have made for a clearer route, but still, good tour.

  2. Nice job! I loved seeing this side of Junkie. I feel like you could use this as a marketing tool for the store. It was nice timing wise to, enough time to browse but not to get bored. Love your quirky style.

  3. I really liked your concept but I'm not sure it translated to your track. There were too many stories for your audience to follow. Maybe focusing on 5 or 6 specific pieces with longer stories would help. Very cool idea!

  4. You chose a truly great setting for your audio tour and luckily the owner's were so accommodating of our large group. The brochure you made also looks really good in color! However, the text was a bit hard for me to read--which may be why I also had a difficult time locating the objects during the tour.

    Thanks!

  5. This was a great idea and I loved walking through all those antiques but I was definitely very confused on where to go and what was telling the stories... Great idea though!

  6. I loved the idea and for the most part it translated well. My only fault was with timing and instructions. The stories were so back to back I wasn't sure what or where I was supposed to be. Maybe a more clear way of pointing out which item you are about to talk about? But just listening to the stories and browsing was very fun, and worked well too. It really portrayed how unique antique stores really are, in that they hold so many items with untold stories, if only items could speak about their own memories!

  7. This piece was different and interesting, and I really like the idea of having all of those background stories for each of the objects. Good idea!

  8. I have never been to Junkee before but I have no found a new place I can go to if I ever wanted props for future projects due to this piece. I liked how your piece lead us around the area and allowed us to get a good look at the different areas and items of the store. My only real criticism would be that there weren't many queues as to when we were supposed to change environments, and so at times the timing would be off and I would be listening to a narration that doesn't go with the piece. Overall though, I did enjoy the story telling and the environment.

  10. One of the most unique things about your audio is that you made things in the store characters in your piece. I liked how didn't just explain what was in the store but rather you let the items talk about themselves as if they were having a conversation with us. I was a fun way to look at things around the store as if they each had their own personality than just items on a self or rack.

  11. I absolutely adored the element of ambiguity in your audio tour. As a participant progressing through each room, it was interesting to think how the objects I was observing could have been drastically different from one person to the next, though each may share similar characteristics. This sense of ambiguity does not stop in Junkee’s, but the audio could be applicable to other antique stores and carry the same integrity to the items as well.

  12. An interesting exploration of humanizing an "island of misfit" objects. I enjoyed the personalization. It was much like a collage in audio.

  13. Very interesting piece, you definitely had a lot of subject matter to pull from inside Junkee and I think you did a good job highlighting certain aspects of the store. I think this is something that Junkee could use to help their customers familiarize themselves with the store.

  14. yes I agree, the piece needed queues to change spots, but I thought we were contained to only 5 minutes and tried to rush through.

  15. I felt the same as Serina, the personalization and different voices really made your walking tour unique.
